We are a fast-growing company in Japanese restaurant industry. We are providing fine Japanese cuisines and high-quality beverages. The company is seeking a chef who leads our kitchen.
Position: Chef
Work Hours: Full-Time, 38 hours per week
Work Type: 3 years
Salary: $74,000 plus superannuation per year
You will perform the following tasks for the role:
- Lead and manage kitchen,
- Develop and plan menus,
- Supervise the activities of kitchen,
- Discuss food preparation issues with the restaurant manager,
- Check food to ensure its quality,
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment,
- Prepare food for cooking,
- Cook food by a range of methods (e.g. baking, braising, frying, roasting or steaming),
- Divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented,
- Clean food preparation areas and equipment,
- Store food in temperature-controlled facilities,
- Receive and store supplies,
- Make sure kitchen is hygienic and functional,
- Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements,
- Give directions to other kitchen staffs,
- Train and supervise other kitchen staffs
To be successful, you must satisfy the following requirements:
- Demonstrated at least 3-year work experience in the similar role within the food industry; or relevant qualification holder such as Diploma of Hospitality with Certificate III / IV in Commercial Cookery
- Proven ability to conduct the above tasks in kitchen
- Excellent cooking skills and unique recipes in Japanese cuisines
- Preferable: Permanent resident or Australian citizen
